On 17-18 March 2016 Annual Scientific Conference 2016 was held in University.

The representatives of BALTINFECT Project participated at the Conference with poster presentation.

RSU researchers invite to the discussion about responsible research in the fields of infectious diseases and immunology.

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is hosting the event “SCIENCE AND INNOVATION IN INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND IMMUNOLOGY” that will be held on 10 – 11 March 2016, at the Conference Hall of Avalon Hotel, 13. janvāra Street 19, Riga. Entrepreneurs and representatives of the industry are very welcome to participate.

Rapid spread of infectious diseases is growing in significance, and it leaves an impact not only on research, but also on society in general. Thus, new challenges need to be addressed through academia-industry cooperation.

On 13th-15th January 2016 a Mathematical Modelling workshop “Current and Future Perspectives of micro- and macro modelling of infectious diseases: from system biology to control and dynamics” will be held at Rīga Stradiņš University. The workshop is organised within the framework of the project BALTINFECT.

The objective of the workshop is to introduce  scientists with new  mathematical and statistical challenges in  modelling of infectious  and rare diseases.

On 29th and 30th October 2015 a workshop “Patenting biotechnological inventions” will be held at Rīga Stradiņš University. The workshop is organised within the framework of the project BALTINFECT.

The purpose of this workshop is to consider the issues related to the general patentability criteria and inventions` patentability in medicine and biotechnology.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Henrik Knudsen, Patent examiner at European Patent Office’s Joint Cluster Biotechnology. His working interests are nucleic acid based analysis, in particular personalised medicine during the last years.
