On 14, 15 and 21 July 2015 seminars by prof. Anne-Mieke Vandamme and prof. Ricardo Camacho from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) took place in Rīga Stradiņš University. They visited A. Kirchenštein Institute of Microbiology and Virology as visiting lecturers within the frame of the project BALTINFECT. Their main fields of interest are related to HIV, HTLV and HCV molecular epidemiology, HIV and HCV drug resistance (genotyping, phenotyping) and bioinformatics (data mining, phylogenetic analysis) technology.

On 3 June Brokerage Event took place within the framework of the Week of Innovative Regions in Europe in Riga. The event was oriented towards presentation and popularization of existing projects demonstrating synergy between different funding resources. Representatives from Baltinfect project team  A.Krūmiņa, M.Kālis and Š.Svirskis participated in event with poster and oral presentations that demonstrated the contribution of  funding resources invested in strengthening of multidisciplinary infectious disease research centre in Rīga Stradiņš university.

On 11 June Baltinfect Project Coordinator Modra Murovska participated in the radio program "Known in the Unknown" (Latvian: Zināmais nezināmajā) and told about infectious diseases research in Latvia and contribution of Baltinfect project to the field of infectious diseases. "Known in the Unknown" is a popular science program about scientific achievements in different fields of science in Latvia and in the world.
