On 19th  July, 2016 the workshop "Attracting Funding for Science Based Commercial Projects" will be held at State JSC "Latvian Development Financial Institution ALTUM", 4 Doma laukums (Large conference room), Riga (Map: https://goo.gl/maps/y6KZ1CLwSax). The workshop is organized within the framework of the project BALTINFECT.

On 1st July, 2016 the workshop "Pitching – from Audience to Presentation" was held at Rīga Stradiņš University. It was organized within the framework of the project BALTINFECT.

The purpose of the workshop was to develop pitching and presentation skills which are a key factor in entrepreneurship. The workshop began with the identification of the audience, continued with determining the audience needs and finished with preparing pitches. Participants had to make pitches aimed at investors and licensees or customers.

XVIth International Parvovirus workshop-conference was held on 19- 23 June, 2016 in Ajaccio, Corsica, France, and it was organized by the European Society for Virology. The scientific programme of the workshop included topics of major interest on virology and topics related to the recent data in the field of virology, namely, evolution of parvoviruses, heterogeneity, interactions with the host (human/animal), structure of virus, and engineering issues. Clinical issues in virology, molecular virology and issues related to microscopy matters were also delivered. The scientific programme included oral presentations and poster presentations that provided the audience with the information regarding the topics mentioned above and the instruments applicable for parvovirus research. The presentation "Active human parvovirus B19 infection and phenotypic peculiarities of arthritis synovial fibroblasts" was given by the associate professor Valerija Groma on 22nd June, 2016 in the section of clinical parvovirology. The associate professor Angelika Krūmiņa and the leading researcher Svetlana Kozireva participated with poster presentations.

On 13 May 2016 a workshop "Lean Start-up Methodology" will be held at Rīga Stradiņš University. The workshop is organised within the framework of the project BALTINFECT.

The purpose of this workshop is to create new knowledge of a start-up, entrepreneurship and business model canvas and discuss the reasons for the necessity for scientists to think like entrepreneurs.
